New horizons

Very brief announcement:

I’m delighted to say that at the end of October I will be joining Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (@ForumTL) as a Strategic Education Developer. The National Forum works across all higher education institutions in Ireland with the mission of enhancing teaching and learning for all students. As a neutral and academically-led body, the National Forum facilitates and fosters collaboration among the many stakeholders in the higher education sector. In my new role, I will contribute to all of the principal areas of action of the Forum, including professional development, scholarship of teaching and learning, and building digital capacity, among others.

I look forward to bringing my existing knowledge, expertise, and networks to this new role — and to learning a great deal in the process! I’ll continue my research and collaborative activities in the area of open education (including co-chairing OER19 here in Galway) and look forward to building yet more fruitful connections after I begin my new role.

For the next three weeks, however, I will make the most of my time here at NUI Galway — working with postgraduate students in our online Teaching & Learning module and collaborating with my wonderful colleagues in CELT on other projects. I am delighted that I will continue to work with colleagues here at NUI Galway, and with staff and students across all HEIs in Ireland, over the coming few years.

So for now, back to work…
